Drive a little and save a lot. This is your home-away-from-home. This is a 2300 square foot three-level new log home in a town (Alma) situated at 10,600 feet elevation. Everything you should need for the house is provided including linens, bedding, kitchen utensils, furnishings, and plenty of storage for your stuff. A short drive (20 minutes) through the majestic Rocky Mountains takes you into the heart of Breckenridge. Another 15 minutes down the road from Breckenridge and you are at Keystone, Copper Mountain, or Lake Dillon. You are also 30 minutes from Buena Vista for white water rafting and world-class fly fishing. Horseback riding is available throughout the area. The Alma valley contains the headwaters of the South Platte River that eventually empties into the Gulf of Mexico. There is plenty of wild life in the area including deer, elk, big horn sheep, mountain goats, and lots of other alpine critters. Trails are available throughout the area for hiking, four-wheeling, dirt biking/ATV, snowmobiling, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. This is an ideal summer or winter retreat with plenty to do to keep you busy. Yet at the same time, you are away from the "Big City" where there is a quiet small town atmosphere removed from resorts and traffic. It's a great place to just kick back and relax as well.
