Dana Point Harbor is the home of the tallships Pilgrim and the Pride of Dana Point, as well as the Ocean Institute and the Dana Point Youth & Group Facility both offering a wide variety of programs. Dana Wharf Sportfishing offers the best fishing trips in Southern California. Their fishing fleet awaits you for a half-day, full day or twilight deep-sea fishing party. Dana Point is also the home of the Festival of Whales. Whale Watching is available through several harbor businesses from December through March.

Boating Services and Yacht Clubs
The Harbor houses two Marinas which have about 2,500 boat slips. There are ample guest slips available through the Dana Point Marina Company and the Harbor Patrol office for the cruiser or trailer boater. From the launch facility, it is only a short five minutes to the ocean. Also available in the Harbor is an all year bait receiver, Dana Point Fuel Dock, Dana Point Shipyard and marine hardware stores. The shipyard has a 30 ton crane and a 50 ton travel lift enabling them to lift up a 70 foot boat into dry dock. There are do it yourself areas as well as expert full service. Excellent and speedy inflatable boat and outboard engine sales, service and repairs are available in the Harbor as well.
There are four boat brokers in the Harbor as well as two yacht clubs and the Aventura Sailing Association. Small powerboats, sailboats and jet skis may be rented for the day. Charters on larger boats are available too.

Public Park
If you prefer enjoying the beauty of the ocean from shore, relax on the half-mile picnic park island where there are picnic shelters with barbecues on wide grassy areas. Watch the boats sail in and out of the Harbor and listen to the music of the sea. Visit the nine-foot bronze statue of author/seaman Richard Henry Dana as he gazes across the Harbor. His novel, Two Years Before the Mast, describes the charm of the cliffed cove named after him, Dana Point Harbor, which he called the only romantic spot in California.
Also visit Anaheim Orange County, presented by the Anaheim Visitors and Convention Bureau. They'd like to provide you with information to help you plan your trip or convention!
