Located in Towamensing Trails development, near Ski resorts, NASCAR Racetrack, horseback riding, and White Water Rafting this home is truly unique. It is tastefully decorated to give you the feeling of your home away from home. There is a modern game room (in the home) which includes authentic Arcade games (Ms. PacMan, Frogger, and Galaxa), air hockey, darts and lots of fun board games. We pride ourselves on the extreme cleanliness of our home. Activities: Things really get hot at Jack Frost and Big Boulder for the summer. Once the snow is gone they offer paintball, motorsports, and music and Arts & Crafts festivals. The paintball course covers 2,500 acres with over 24 courses! The Traxx Motorsports Park at Jack Frost offers riders motocross tracks for all skill levels (need your own bike). If water sports are what you are interested in then you will love white-water rafting at nearby Lehigh or Delaware Rivers. Approx. 7 miles from our home anyone 5 or over can join in the fun. Kayaking is also available. You will truly enjoy yourself riding through the beautiful Lehigh Gorge. You can pick your own pace as you pedal between towering mountains. There are 3 different trips. Every trip is a gentle downhill trail. 3-6 Hr. Trip: (Lehigh Gorge Rail-Trail) This converted railroad bed, a 100% downhill trail, provides easy riding for 25 miles along the river all the way to Jim Thorpe. There are picnic tables where you can stop, relax and enjoy your lunch by sparkling waterfalls. This Rails-To-Trails tour winds through the Lehigh Gorge State Park to Glen Onoko Falls, and you will finish at the quaint, historical village of Jim Thorpe. They will shuttle you to your starting point and pick you up at your destination. 2-4 Hr. Trip: (Mid-Way Gorge) If you don’t have the time or inclination to pedal the whole Gorge-Trail, they can drop you off at the mid-way point. This is a 15 mile 100% downhill gentle ride allowing you to arrive later and have a very enjoyable afternoon. 2-3 Hr. Trip: (Switchback Railway) The second railroad in America, this narrow gauge gravity and mule-powered railway was built to haul coal to Jim Thorpe, for eventual shipment to Philadelphia via the Lehigh River and Canal. In 1872 the Switchback became one of America’s leading tourist attractions, second only to Niagara Falls. Today the tracks are gone, the trees have grown back and the trail has turned into a National Historic Trail. The trail follows the rim of Mt. Pisgah before dropping into Mauch Chunk Creek Valley. Here it passes the lake then widens and follows the creek through an exceptionally dense and beautiful hemlock and rhododendron forest. The trail ends at the historical 19th century opera house in Jim Thorpe. The Switchback is a very pleasant, picturesque, nine-mile, downhill ride that is steeped in history! Any type of bike can be rented as well as child seats and pull alongs. Horseback riding is also very near to our home and is open all year long. You will certainly enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. It is pure serenity. If water parks are what you like then you will love the largest water park in Pennsylvania called Camel Beach! They have 22 slides which are sure to get you soaking wet and laughing all day long. Camel Beach is approx. 30 minutes from our home. We are also approx. 1.5 hrs. from Dorney Park and Knoebals Amusement Park. You will also enjoy visiting the famous Bushkill Falls. This is the “Niagara of Pennsylvania.” This is the state’s most famous scenic attractions. There are 8 waterfalls, nestled deep in the wooded Pocono Mountains, which is accessible through beautiful hiking trails and bridges which offer breathtaking views of the falls and the surrounding forest. Shoppers will absolutely be in shoppers heaven at the famous “Crossing” Outlets stores. Some of the outlets stores are Ann Taylor, Brooks Brothers, Coach, Gap Outlet, Liz Claiborne, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Waterford, Wedgewood and more. There are over 100 outlets and you will surely find impressive savings. It is worth the 30 minute drive and I know you will want to come back year after year. We are also only a few miles away from the famous NASCAR racetrack.
